Big Nerd Ranch — offers training classes for Unix and Mac OS X programmers in a lodge outside Atlanta, Ga. — will offer a revised Cocoa training class Nov. 10-14. The class, which covers Apple’s object-oriented development environment, has been modified to incorporate new features in Mac OS X (“Panther”), due for release this Friday.
The complete class syllabus is online. Students will receive the edited draft of the second edition of instructor Aaron Hillegass’s book, “Cocoa Programming for Mac OS X.” The Xcode IDE and the new bindings mechanism will be covered in the revised course.
The class price of US$3,500 includes lodging, meals, instruction materials, 24-hour lab access, and transportation to and from the Atlanta airport. Students are encouraged to bring independent projects to class to get input from fellow students and individual instructor attention.
