DigArts Software has released a Palm Paints CD for professional artists using Painter and Photo-Paint. Designed especially for game developers, architects and design pros, it’s a collection of electronic paints and tools with which artists can paint date and coconut palms.
Palm Paints’ 86 different nozzles and tubes function as “coherent” image databases that automatically spray coconut, date and generic palm fronds and fruits in common growth patterns. The palette includes seasonal, fruited and windblown frond varieties, along with an assortment of touch-up tools.
The 35 trunk patterns let Painter users render a variety of textured palm trunks using brush strokes. The Palm Paints CD also includes over 80 pre-painted, shadowed trunk layers, many in higher resolutions. The trunk layers let users drag and drop finished trunks into an illustration. There’s also a collection of textures so artists can add their own bark variations.
The regular price for the CD is US$99.95; however, DigArts is offering it for $69.95 through November. The promotion also includes a free copy of the Date Palms architectural tree collection. Palm Paints requires Painter 6-8, Paint Shop Pro 7-8 or Photo-Paint 8-11.
