Mac repair and parts service center MacResQ announced that it has added a full-service hard drive upgrade program to its PowerBookResQ repair service. The service enables PowerBook and iBook users to send in their systems and have their hard drives replaced with larger-capacity units, all using MacResQ’s 24-hour service program.
The PowerBookResQ program enables users in the United States to send in their laptops using 3-way overnight shipping: First a special shipping carton is delivered to your address. Then you return the PowerBook or iBook. MacResQ then replaces the hard drive, transfers data from your old system to the new one, and returns it to you within 24 hours using overnight shipping. Your old hard drive is returned to you, suitable for installation in an external drive chassis or kept as a backup.
MacResQ offers 60GB Hitachi drives for US$299 or 80GB Hitachi drives for $399. The upgrade price includes three-way delivery and all service costs.
MacResQ also offers the three-way overnight delivery program as part of its repair service, for broken or non-operational PowerBooks and iBooks, with service starting at $99. Visit the site for more details.
