Mark of the Unicorn (MOTU) has released software updates for its products to work with Mac OS X v10.3, “Panther.” What’s more, the company has added new features as well.
Updated drivers have been released for all of MOTU’s FireWire and PCI-based audio interfaces, to make them compatible with Panther — MOTU FireWire Driver Version 1.07 and MOTU PCI Driver Version 1.03 are both available for download now. Those drivers work with the original 828 and 896 FireWire interfaces, and first- and second-generation PCI-324 and PCI-424 systems.
The updates also provide new features: Input and output name and control surface support has been added for CueMix DSP, for example. The new FireWire driver can resolve to another CoreAudio driver as well.
A new version of MOTU’s Digital Performer software is also available. Digital Performer v4.11, a free update for all registered DP4 users, gains the Panther treatment and also adds new features like a utility for configuring synthesizer expansion card patch names.
MOTU also notes that MachFive v1.0 is Panther-compatible.
In other news, MOTU has updated its USB MIDI driver to v1.2.1. It’s not Panther-related, but the new version improves the performance of MOTU’s FastLane USB MIDI interface under Jaguar or later. It’s strongly recommended for Mac OS X users, according to MOTU.
