Adobe is also shipping InCopy CS, an upgrade to the professional writing and editing program that integrates with InDesign CS and the Adobe Creative Suite. Sporting a new editorial workflow technology that lets writers, editors, and designers work simultaneously on the same InDesign CS document.
Previously available only through systems integrators and third-party developers servicing large publishing enterprises, Adobe InCopy CS will now also be sold directly from the Adobe store. Originally designed for large publishing companies, InCopy CS is extending its market reach by providing a professional editorial workflow solution for small workgroups of less than 10 people — in ad agencies, design firms, newspapers and magazines — through bridge technology that enables InDesign CS and InCopy CS to work together right out of the package, according to Adobe.
InCopy CS for Mac OS X costs $249 for all platforms. InCopy will also be available through Adobe-authorized system integrators. Pricing and availability will be determined by systems integrators based on individual installations.
