Torino, Italy-base Ovolab announced Tuesday the release of its Mac-based telephony product Phlink. Ovolab’s Phlink is a USB-based device and Mac OS X-native software application that work together to enable users to answer telephone calls and identify the caller using Caller ID technology.
The product was announced at Apple Expo in Paris, France this past September as “InTouch,” but has been renamed for its release.
Phlink can record messages and send them by e-mail to a pre-defined address encoded using AAC or 3GPP formats. It can also be set to execute scripts, launch software applications or open documents using telephone keypad entries. Phlink can also provide info to you about who’s calling, through prerecorded audio messages and through Mac OS X’s text-to-speech technology.
Ovolab is making Phlink available now directly from its Web site for €99.95 plus shipping.
