Apple on Tuesday offered Security Update 2003-10-28, intended specifically for Mac OS X v10.3 “Panther” and Mac OS X Server v10.3 users. The update is now available for download through the Software Update system preferences pane.
“Security Update 2003-10-28 addresses a potential vulnerability in the implementation of QuickTime Java in Mac OS X 10.3 and Mac OS X Server 10.3 that could allow unauthorized access to a system,” noted Apple in the release.
The update measures 592K. Further information was not available from Apple’s Web site as MacCentral posted the article. It is not unusual to see information about updates through the Software Update system preferences pane to reach end user systems at different times, so if you don’t see it on your Mac after reading this article, check again later.
