United Developers LLC subsidiary MacPlay let readers of its most recent e-newsletter know that it’s now accepting pre-orders for Baldur’s Gate II: Throne of Bhaal, an expansion pack for the company’s popular Mac conversion of the role playing game Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn.
It’s more or less the first official confirmation that MacPlay is publishing a Mac version of Throne of Bhaal, which many Baldur’s Gate II fans had hoped for since the franchise first debuted on the Mac. MacPlay noted that the game is expected to ship on November 26.
In Throne of Bhaal, you can import your character from Shadows of Amn or create an entirely new one as you leave the city of Amn and journey south to Tethyr. You explore the Watcher’s Keep dungeon and face fire giants, golems, dragons and all other manners of beast, monster and magical creature.
Enhancements include the ability to level up characters to level 40 and acquire up to 8 million experience points, with new special abilities, the ability to forge magical items and more.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.1.5 or later or Mac OS 9.2 or later; G3/266MHz or faster; 256MB RAM; 56K modem or faster required for multiplayer support. As an expansion pack, Throne of Bhaal requires Baldur’s Gate II: Shadows of Amn, which is also available from MacPlay.
MacPlay is currently accepting pre-orders for Throne of Bhaal. It costs US$29.99.
