Storage peripheral maker WiebeTech LLC on Wednesday announced three new FireWire 800/USB 2.0 combination storage product lines.
WiebeTech has added the DesktopGB+800, which offers dual FireWire 800 interfaces and a single USB 2.0 interface. The enclosure uses a fanless design for quiet operation, and is available in capacities ranging from a bare enclosure only (add your own drive) to 300GB, with prices ranging from US$159.95 to $579.95 depending on capacity. WiebeTech expects to begin shipping the new enclosure system on November 12, 2003.
The new BayDock 800 features single or dual bays; Dual bay systems can sport individual FireWire 800 bridge boards on each bay for optimal performance using RAID software. BayDock 800 systems range in price from $199.95 to $669.95 for the single bay configuration to $349.95 to $1,329.95 for the dual bay configuration, depending on capacity. WiebeTech will begin shipping the systems on November 6, 2003.
In related news, WiebeTech has noted that it has “substantially reduced” prices on the FireWire 400 BayDock.

It can be configured as a RAID Level 0 (striped) or RAID Level 1 (mirrored) system using a switch. Prices range from US$599.95 for the system without drives to $1,279.95 for a system configured with dual 250GB drives. The RaidTECH will begin shipping on November 6, 2003.
