Lenox Softworks and Bodelin Distribution have teamed up to release LX-ProScope, a new, optional software package designed to work with Bodelin’s USB-based ProScope digital microscope. LX-ProScope extends the capabilities of the ProScope with new features and functionality not found in the included software.
The LX-ProScope software enables users to measure objects captured in video or stills, and also provides support for on-screen annotation. Users can add graphics and labels in still frames and video captured with the software, and provides video editing capabilities. The developers indicate that the new features were driven by requests from teachers, federal law enforcement officials, coin, stamp and gem collectors and physicians.
A 14-day demo version of LX-ProScope is available for download; it’s available for Mac OS X and Windows XP. The software costs US$129.
