KTI has announced the launch of aMac, a Mac OS X-native digital radiography solution aimed at dentists who want to use Macs within their practices.
aMac comprises both hardware and software. The system includes an intra-oral sensor, digital imaging software and other accessories; the software enables Mac-based dentists to use their computers for imaging. The developers explained that the Mac was chosen as a development platform in part because of its “superior graphics abilities.”
What’s more, aMac integrates with Macintosh-bas practice management applications, according to KTI. It does so through the use of “software bridges” that connect other applications to aMac, like Mango Dental, Dom II and EndoTrak.
KTI has also developed aMac ENDO, a specialized version created for endodontists that also includes post treatment reporting capabilities.
