Feral Interactive announced Friday that it’s bringing Mac gamers two new games in the coming months: Worms 3D and Championship Manager 03/04.
Worms 3D is the first 3D version of Team17’s enormously popular Worms strategy game. Like previous Worms strategy games, Worms 3D is a turn-based game that puts you in control of war-like worms hell-bent on blasting each other to smithereens. You must judge trajectory and strength of each shot in order to do maximum damage to your opponents. Favorite weapons make their return, including bazookas, grenades, dynamite, air strikes and sheep, along with a host of brand-new weapons to play with.
Feral previously ported Worms Blast, a Worms-based game that eschewed the typical pyrotechnics of other worms games for a more puzzle-oriented experience. But this is the latest and greatest Worms game that many enthusiasts of the series have been waiting for.
Feral’s partner-in-crime, Zonic, is working on the Mac version of Worms 3D, which will be released for both Mac OS X and Mac OS 9. They’re anticipating a release in the first quarter of 2004.
In related news, Feral announced that it will publish Championship Manager 03/04, the latest version of the enormously popular footie/soccer management franchise. It’s coming in the first half of December, according to the publisher, who plans to publish more details on November 7th.
Feral also indicates that its new 3D strategy game Ghost Master is shipping in the United States today — appropriate for Halloween, clearly. Total Immersion Racing, the new auto racing game that was just profiled on Apple’s Games site, is “nearly finished” according to Feral spokesman Camille Thouvenin. Rayman 3, which Feral just announced as a new Mac project last week, is now at its Beta development milestone.
