Apple’s newest retail location — Apple Store Old Orchard — comes to Skokie, Ill. this weekend. The store’s grand opening is set to happen on Friday, November 7, 2003 at 6PM.
As is customary when a new Apple Store opens for business, the first 1,000 people to visit get a free Apple T-shirt to commemorate the trip. And customers who fill out an entry form can be eligible to win a Grand Opening Sweepstakes prize valued at nearly $2,300, including a Combo Drive-equipped 15-inch iMac, digital camera, camcorder and printer.
The Old Orchard store is located in the Old Orchard Westfield shopping center, near Pottery Barn — visit the link above for directions. It’s Apple’s fourth retail store location in Illinois alone, as the company has spots on North Michigan Ave. in Chicago as well as Oak Brook and Schaumburg.
The store features a series of Digital Kids workshops to help younger Mac users get the most out of their systems when it comes to basic operation, making movies, using digital photos or digital music. What’s more, the Old Orchard store also has ongoing presentations and workshops in its theater area to introduce store visitors to using the Mac and to help them learn more about how to get software like iPhoto and iMovie working.
