Canon USA on Monday introduced the LV-S3 microportable projector that weighs in at 4.9 pounds and offers a “Silent Mode” that decreases the unit’s noise level to 32dB. It will ship early this month at a suggested list price of US$1,299.
The LV-S3 — a native SVGA resolution (800 x 600) LCD projector — has a 1.2X optical zoom lens that projects a 100-inch image from 10.4 feet away and supports brightness levels of up to 1250 ANSI lumens. It has connectivity options for computers, digital camcorders, digital cameras, DVD players, HDTVs and VCRs including USB, VGA, RCA and mini jack stereo. The LV-S3’s progressive scan circuitry converts a standard 480i/575i signal to “progressive,” which is good for home theater use.
The projector also comes with the Presentation Kit, a remote control with USB Remote Receiver that can be used as a wireless mouse; it can control key projector functions commonly used during a presentation. For business owners, the customizable logo display lets you project a corporate logo at the beginning of a presentation.
