Sorenson Media will announce on Tuesday the release of a free update to its Sorenson Video codec to support Mac OS X v10.3 “Panther.”
“During Panther pre-release testing, the Sorenson Video 3 Pro codec was not listed within the Apple QuickTime codec options; however, the 3.3 update resolves this compatibility issue,” said the company in a statement.
The new version of the video codec will be offered free to existing Sorenson Squeeze 3 Compression Suite and Sorenson Video 3.1 Mac customers; it will be available for download from the Web site.
Sorenson Video 3 Pro Codec is used to compress video source material to QuickTime. The software can be used with editing tools like Final Cut Pro, iMovie, Avid Xpress DV and Adobe Premiere, and it works alongside Sorenson’s Squeeze software, QuickTime Pro and Discreet Cleaner. Features include support for chroma key effects, color watermarks, and much more.
