Apple has updated Xcode, its set of Mac OS X developer tools, to version 1.0.1 , which addresses an issue in the Xcode IDE that could potentially lead to data corruption or the loss of files particularly when source files contain illegal characters.
Introduced in June at the 2003 Apple Worldwide Developers Conference, Xcode combines a Unix-based development environment, a simplified user interface, and performance technologies including Fix and Continue, Zero Link and Distributed Build. According to Apple, Xcode delivers performance improvements that are five times faster than Apple’s previous generation developer tools, delivering significantly faster turn around times for developers creating applications for Mac OS X.
Xcode 1.0.1 is available via the Mac OS X Software Update preference pane.
