Canto announced Wednesday that it expects to ship Cumulus 6 Single User in December. The first version of Canto’s single-user digital asset management (DAM) software to be made available for Mac OS X, Cumulus 6 also offers new features and enhancements.
Cumulus 6 Single User has been developed to provide creative pros with a way to keep track of and share digital assets like images, layouts, multimedia, video, audio and text. The software incorporates search capabilities, can display assets as thumbnail previews, and has a variety of customization options to tailor its use to individual user’s needs.
The user interface in Cumulus 6 has been redesigned to be easier to use, with assets accessible and manageable from a single window. A extra keyword list has been added, and View Sets provide different views. Asset Handling Sets have been added to handle different asset formats. Sets are user-editable too. A new toolbar layout and simplified menu structure have also been added.
Canto said that versions of Cumulus 6 Single User Edition will be made for Mac OS X and Windows. Pricing on the new version has not been offered at this time, although the current version, 5.5, is priced at US$119.95. Canto indicated that upgrades will be offered.
