After a lengthy public beta test, Apple has released the final version of its Backup 2 software to subscribers of the company’s
Backup 2 provides users with backup capabilities. Users can backup files to their .Mac iDisk repository, or use external FireWire-baseed hard disk drives, CD-R drives and DVD burners. Users can schedule automated backups, determine what kind of files or what directories are to be backed up, and more.
Backup 2 requires Mac OS X v10.2.6 or higher to work. It also requires a .Mac account. An older version — v1.1 — exists for users who have not upgraded to Panther or Jaguar.
