Analyst firm IDC says that Apple is continuing to see growth in the UK personal computer market, experiencing about 35 percent year-on-year overall market growth this quarter, Macworld UK reports. The company now has approximately 2.5 percent of the UK marketshare.
Seasonal back-to-school demand has played a big role in boosting demand for Apple products this quarter, the article adds. Apple was the 11th largest PC vendor (in terms of unit shipments) in the UK for the third quarter of 2003, seeing growth across all products and segments, IDC told Macworld UK.
Overall, the UK personal market has seen 17.4 percent market growth during the quarter, IDC reports. Consumer sales, a trend toward laptops and back-to-school sales have driven UK sales in the quarter, according to Macworld UK.
