The Apple Store is selling gift certificates good for purchasing music from the iTunes Music Store.
The simple order form on the Apple Store Web site asks users to input their name, and the name and e-mail address of the recipient along with a personal message. Purchasers can select US$10 increments ranging from $10 to $200.
Gift Certificates are a fairly new feature of the iTunes Music Store, first introduced with last month’s unveiling of the “second generation” iTunes Music Store. Up until now, if you’ve wanted to buy gift certificates for other users, you’ve needed to have an iTunes Music Store membership.
Of course, this still requires that the recipient be an iTunes Music Store user. Setting up an account is free, though it requires users to be located in the United States. The gift certificates are good for two years from the date of purchase except where such expiration dates are prohibited — please visit the Apple Store site for more details.
