Write Track Media Inc. on Monday released a plug-in called Xcode Clippings Menu. Designed to work with Xcode, Mac OS X v10.3 “Panther’s” new application development environment, Xcode Clippings Menu enables developers to “clip” snippets of code and other text directly from the Xcode menu bar using a new Clippings menu.
The Clippings of text files can be stored in any number of subfolders within a primary clippings folder, according to Write Track Media. As a result, users can select either the primary folder or the contents of the subfolders to identify items for insertion into the front source document.
If your collection of Clippings gets too unwieldy, you can select the “Reveal Clippings Folder” option to open it up, then you can edit, delete or “spring clean” your text clippings. And Xcode Clippings Menu works with AppleScript Studio as well, according to the developer.
System requirements call for Mac OS X v10.3 and Xcode. A demo version of the Xcode Clippings Menu plug-in is available for download from the Web site, and costs US$10 to register.
