Portland-based storage peripheral maker LaCie has partnered with Roxio to offer its users a copy of Toast Titanium 6 with LaCie’s d2 Dual DVD±RW FireWire drive.
Following the “d2” design adopted for many of its hard drives over the last year for this new device, the LaCie DVD±RW is encased in a metal alloy that dissipates heat to prolong drive performance, according to the company. To prevent further heat emission, LaCie developed the power supply for the d2 design with an external AC adapter to keep the drive cool without the need for a fan. It can also be placed stacked on the desktop or configured in a standard-19 inch rack with an optional rack-mounting kit.
“This is the first time this exclusive bundle is being offered at no additional charge,” said Salem Tirane, LaCie product manager. “This offer is something of which every Mac user should take advantage.”
The LaCie Dual DVD±RW Drive bundled with Toast 6 Titanium will be available this month through authorized resellers for $279. Drives ship with Roxio Toast 6 Titanium, Toast 5.2.2 lite, a FireWire cable and power adapter. Roxio Toast 6 Titanium is shipping with the FireWire only version of the Dual DVD±RW Drive.
