The New Jersey Final Cut Pro Users Group and the New Jersey Filmmakers will host a special joint meeting on Dec. 10 to discuss production and distribution trends for independent filmmakers. The event will start at 7 p.m. at William Patterson University in New Jersey.
Topics to be discussed include 24P production and DVD authoring. There will also be a roundtable discussion on distribution, a screening of short films and a raffle. Presenters will include Apple Certified Instructors, Arthur Aldrich (Final Cut Pro) and Jem Schofield (DVD Studio Pro), as well as film distributor Allen Chou. The Dec. 10 event is open to everyone, but registration is required.
Also, Mac User Group (MUG) members should take note of Nov. 10; it’s the last day to register for a free Macworld Exhibit Hall Pass using the User Group Discount Code. You can get the code from your Apple-recognized user group leader and attend for free — or take 15 percent off all conference packages. Macworld Expo & Conference runs Jan. 5-9, 2004 at the Moscone Convention Center in San Francisco. Calif.
MUGs are good places for making new friends, finding Mac-loving buddies, boning up your technical expertise, finding solutions to technical problems, and sometimes finding a good deal on used hardware. For more info on MUGs, and to find the location of the one nearest you, go to Apple’s User Group Web page.
