IOGEAR has introduced the Wireless-G Broadband Gateway, a US$129 router that lets you surf the Internet, share files and print wirelessly. Compatible with Mac OS X and Mac OS 9.2 and higher, it’s the first wireless product in the company’s new family of Wi-Fi devices.
The 4-port, 802.11g router has an embedded print server and is equipped with Firewall and wireless security packages. The Wireless-G Broadband Gateway comes with a manual CD for setup, a quick start guide, power adapter and Ethernet cable.
802.11g is the specification known to Mac users as AirPort Extreme. The standard was approved by the Institute of Electrical and Electronics Engineers (IEEE) on June 12.
