Several developer products — including Revolution, SimplyProjects and SQLLite — have been updated.
Runtime Revolution has updated Revolution — the multi-platform development tool for Mac, Windows, Macintosh, Linux, and Unix — to version 2.1.2. Free to registered users, the update offers better Mac OS X compatibility, support for the Polish language in Unicode functions and improvements in the script editor and debugger.
For new users, Revolution Studio and Enterprise are available at a discounted price for a limited time. You can get Revolution Studio for US$299, a saving of US$100 off the list price, or Revolution Enterprise for $999, a discount of $200. Thirty-day demo versions can be downloaded from the Runtime Web site.
SimplyProjects, a project management system for small-scale and shareware software development, has been updated to version 1.1, which addresses a number of user interface and database issues found in the previous 1.1 beta releases.
SimplyProjects can be used to enter and track feature requests, to-do tasks and bug reports on a per-project basis. You can also use it to export project information either as plain text (ASCII) or HTML files, according to MacTech magazine.
SQLabs has announced the beginning of a beta program for its upcoming SQLitePluginPro, a REALbasic plug-in that provides a database engine built on top of SQLite, an embeddable, stand-alone SQL database library written in C.
SQLitePluginPro implements REALbasic’s database API (application programming interface), allowing you to use REALbasic’s built-in database controls and classes, as well as bindings, to create SQLite database applications. SQLitePluginPro supports versions of REALbasic from 2.1.2 through 5.2.2.
The beta program for SQLitePluginPro will run through Nov. 30. Single-user licenses for the product are $89, and permit an unlimited number of royalty-free applications to be developed. Company licenses for nine or more developers cost $749.
SQLabs has updated SQLitePlugin (the “non-pro” version of the database plug-in) to version 1.3, which adds support for older versions of REALbasic. SQLitePlugin now supports versions of REALbasic beginning with 2.1.2.
Single-user licenses for SQLitePlugin are $29, and permit an unlimited number of royalty-free applications to be developed. Company licenses for nine or more developers may be purchased for $239.
