Apple’s Games site has turned its attention to Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb, a new Mac conversion presently in the works.
Indiana Jones and the Emperor’s Tomb puts players in control of the legendary movie action hero. “Set in the year 1935, the storyline features Indy’s quest for the Heart of the Dragon, a powerful black pearl that supposedly gives its owner the ability to control the minds of others. Many think it was buried with China’s first emperor, but before Indy can access the burial site, he’ll have to find the three pieces of the Dragon Seal that will unlock it,” writes Brad Cook.
Cook notes that the new game brings Indiana Jones to locations like Ceylon, Hong Kong and Istanbul, while he searches for the Dragon Seal and the Heart of the Dragon itself. Along the way, Indy can pick up a total of 30 additional artifacts to add to his collection. Indy uses his trademark bullwhip along with a variety of other weapons and tools to overcome obstacles and disable his foes.
Indy is joined by a female sidekick named Mei Ying, an assistant to a businessman who hires Indy on behalf of the Chinese government. Indy has to face off against an underground society called The Black Dragon Triad, which has allied itself with a German mercenary.
The game was originally published for consoles and the PC by LucasArts, and has been brought to the Mac thanks to the efforts of Aspyr Media Inc.
