If you were watching prime-time television on Thursday night, you may have spotted a new advertisement for the Apple iPod. The new ad has also been posted to Apple’s Web site.
Stylistically, it’s similar to the two ads that many television viewers have already seen: Silhouetted figures dancing on multi-colored backgrounds, iPods in hand. “iPod + iTunes,” reads the ad. “Now for Windows,” then the Apple logo appears above “iTunes.com.”
The ad features the music of N.E.R.D., a band whose music appears on the iTunes Music Store. The track is called Rock Star, but it’s a remix that didn’t appear to be available through the iTunes Music Store as MacCentral posted this article.
That may explain why Apple hadn’t offered a link to the music that’s featured in the QuickTime ad gallery, which it had with its previous two iPod advertisements.
