NEC-Mitsubishi Electronics Displays of America Inc. on Monday introduced new models in its NEC MultiSync LCD 80 Series. The new 20-inch LCD2080UX+ and 21-inch LCD2180UX join existing 18 and 19-inch models.
Both displays feature 1600 x 1200 pixel resolution with 250cd/m(2) brightness and a contrast ratio of 400:1 (for the 20-inch display) and 500:1 (on the 21-inch model).
The displays share many common traits, including support NaViSet software, which allows users to adjust display settings from their computer (or, alternately, administrators can do so over a network); CableComp, a long-distance cabling scheme that enables displays to be located up to 100 meters away from the computer; support for DVI-I, DVI-D and 15-pin analog D-sub video connectors; automatic black-level adjustment; and more.
Expect to see both displays hit store shelves in December, 2003. The 20-inch model will cost US$1,499.99 and the 21-inch model will cost $1,549.99. The LCD2080UX+ will be available in both black and white bezels, while the LCD2180UX will be available in a black finish only.
