Global Graphics Software announced Tuesday the release of the Mac OS X-compatible version of Jaws PDF Courier. Jaws PDF Courier is a software development kit (SDK) used to develop custom content creation and delivery systems using Adobe Portable Document Format (PDF). It’s aimed at the corporate and commercial print service market.
Also new to this release is an enhanced version of Jaws PDF Courier’s “SendIt” application. The reworked app can launch other application like CD writing software. As a result, PDF job files can be automatically routed through CD or ZIP disks or via FTP, encrypted and preflighted.
Also new to this release is 128-bit encryption, a range of print sizes, improved color handling, accuracy, and support for PDF1.4 and PDF/X.
While this release allows the client and SendIt software to run natively on Mac OS X or Mac OS 9.1 or higher, the server applications still require Windows NT or Windows 2000 systems. Pricing is determined by the authorized systems integrators and OEMs who work with the technology.
