Elemental Audio Systems on Tuesday released Firium 2.0, a major new upgrade to its linear phase equalizer for musicians and audio pros. New features in the new release include support for Digidesign Pro Tools RTAS format and more.
Firium incorporates a built-in spectrum analyzer, as well as EQ scaling and smoothing. Users can draw an EQ curve using Firium as well. New features in 2.0 beside RTAS support include the ability to learn the spectral profile of an audio source and apply it to another — simplifying sound-matching between different tracks, according to the developer. Also new is EQ “state” automation, which allows you to store up to 50 EQ “states” for instant recall or automation — Firium 2.0 can fill empty states.
In addition to RTAS support, Firium 2.0 supports VST and Audio Units formats as well. Accordingly, it works natively in Mac OS X.
Firium 2.0 costs US$129. The 2.0 release is a free upgrade for registered users of v1.0.
