Lava Software Pty. Ltd. on Tuesday released PC-Mac-Net FileShare v3.0, a new version of their file-sharing software aimed at Mac and Windows users.
With PC-Mac-Net FileShare installed on both the Mac and the PC, users can exchange files with one another using TCP/IP as the delivery protocol. It works on Windows 2000/XP, “Classic” Mac OS and Mac OS X. It will soon be released for Windows 95/98/NT/ME, and a Linux version is in progress and will be released in early 2004, according to the developer.
New features of the 3.0 release include resumable folder transfers, transfer speeds two to six times higher, streamlined Internet file sharing, support for long filenames and Unicode characters, multiple file and folder transfers, improved automatic cross-platform file renaiming and more. The new Professional Edition adds encryption support, as well.
The Standard Edition costs US$24.95 and the Professional Edition costs US$39.95 — one license is required for each computer. Visit the Web site for further details or to download a demo version.
