Publicspace.net has released A Better Finder Rename v6.0, which it bills as the most significant update to this tool since its initial release in 1997.
The new version of A Better Finder Rename sports a new user interface, completely reworked for Mac OS X, according to the developer. Also new are Instant Preview and Full Preview features that show you your file name changes while you type. What’s more, the new Global Sorting feature can work with the creation of numbered file lists.
A Better Finder Rename functions as a contextual menu plug-in and works with the Finder. It allows users to rename files. Aimed at any users who deal with large numbers of files, A Better Finder Rename can process subfolders, manages numbered and alphabetical list creation, sports replace, add and convert features, can remove characters and file extensions, supports Drag & Drop renaming and much more.
A Better Finder Rename costs US$19.95 to register. Upgrades from previous versions are free. System requirements call for Mac OS X or Mac OS 8 or higher.
