Panic has updated its Mac OS X-native FTP client software Transmit to work better in Panther. The new release, version 2.6.1, is available for download from Panic’s Web site.
Transmit 2.6.1 adds fixes for Panther display bugs and corrects a problem that could make Drag & Drop more difficult to use on Panther systems. A date display issue in Panther has also been fixed. Issues related to window and splitter resizing have likewise been corrected.
Powered by the LibNcFTP engine, Transmit 2 features FTP and SFTP support, supports AppleScript and Rendezvous, handles automatic queuing, image and text preview and much more. The software costs US$24.95 to register, and this update is free for registered Transmit 2 users.
Panic noted that “if all goes well,” the month of December will bring two new releases from the company. Panic’s software library includes Audion, the MP3 utility, CandyBar — a collaboration with the IconFactory, and a doodling application called Desktastic.
