Berkeley, Calif.-based Octiv has released beta version 2 of its Volume Logic plug-in for Apple’s iTunes software. The new version is available for download from the Octiv Web site.
The Volume Logic plug-in adjusts volume dynamics and spectral balancing of music played by iTunes. It uses a five-band dynamics processor to correct audio. Unlike iTunes’ own “Sound Check” feature, the Volume Logic plug-in adjusts sound in real-time, and doesn’t actually make any changes to the file.
The new version adds support for Mac OS X v10.3 “Panther,” and also adds a volume slider and real-time meters. Controls and graphics are more compact, and the window itself is displayed in one of two sizes.
