Hong Kong-based software developer Cross Culture Ltd. has released Mergemill 3, a new version of their tool that helps users generate Web pages from database or spreadsheet content.
Mergemill works with FileMaker Pro, Microsoft Access, 4th Dimension, Microsoft Excel, Appleworks and content generated by any text editor. The database content is converted to static Web pages using a number of pre-defined templates — you can create your own as well.
The new version of Mergemill now supports content source files in XML format. Cross Culture Ltd. has reworked the software for improved performance — up to 700 percent, according to the developer. What’s more, the database engine has been reworked for improved compatibility with new Macintosh and Windows operating systems, including Mac OS X v10.3 “Panther” and Windows Server 2003.
Mergemill 3 requires Mac OS X v10.2 or higher or Mac OS 9.2 or higher. It also works on Windows 98SE or higher. QuickTime is required to utilize Mergemill’s graphics processing features. Mergemill costs US$79. Upgrades from previous Mergemill releases are free.
