Realviz, developer of image-based content creation tools, has released details of the newest version of their soon-to-be-released flagship product, Stitcher 4.0. Slated to ship in January, Stitcher 4.0 is a professional tool for the creation of high-quality panoramas for the Web, film, print and 3D.
Stitcher enables designers to create panoramas in QuickTime 5 or 6, merging overlapping photographs into wide-angle images for use online or off. The latest version will have the ability to work with Adobe Photoshop, enabling each of the panoramas to be exported with each image as a separate layer. Expert users will also be able to set their preferred interpolation method for resizing their images.
A new “Best Rendering” option enables users to automatically get the best-possible output without having to deal with any settings while the new interactive QuickTime VR previewing allows for interactive fine-tuning of settings.
Stitcher 4 also features an improved interface, and workflow enhancements that the company says will all users to develop images more quickly and more easily than before.
The current version of RealViz Stitcher, v3.5, is available for US$499.00, and upgrades to version 4.0 will be free for customers who buy the current version through December 31, 2003. Stitcher 4.0 will retail for $549.00, which works out to be a $50.00 discount to any users purchasing Stitcher 3.5 between now and December 31. Upgrades for current users will cost $188 once the software is released.
