Freeverse Software has announced that its new game ToySight has reached Gold Master status, the final step before a game goes into duplication. It’ll be on store shelves in time for holiday shoppers, according to the company.
ToySight is designed to work hand-in-hand with FireWire-based DV cameras and Webcams, like Apple’s own iSight device. Projecting your image back onto your computer screen, ToySight puts you in the game by allowing you to control sliders, targeting reticules and other elements in a variety of mini-games. It’s similar in concept to Sony’s PlayStation 2 game EyeToy. ToySight includes a dozen games and toys, some capable of supporting two players.
System requirements call for Mac OS X and a camera that uses FireWire. Look for the game at Apple resellers and the Freeverse e-store for US$34.95.
