StageTools has released MovingPicture v5.0, a major new update to their still image pan and zoom software for nonlinear digital video editing software. StageTools said that MovingPicture is used by leading producers at major broadcast studios, including documentarian Ken Burns.
With MovingPicture, video editors and producers can pan and zoom high-res still images up to 8,000 pixels. You can change your view by dragging and sizing a framing box, and add keyframes to the timeline. The motion can be previewed in real-time without rendering. MovingPicture works as a plug-in for most nonlinear editing software, and a standalone application is also available.
The new version gains support for Mac OS X v10.3 “Panther,” along with 16:9 “letterbox” display support, automatic show timing changes, expanded shortcut keys, image tinting, enhanced image filter, and support for new editing software.
MovingPicture works with After Effects, Avid, Final Cut Pro, Media 100, Premiere and other editing software.
The upgrade is free for registered users. The MovingPicture plug-in costs US$199. Visit the Web site for an eval version.
