CMS Products is offering users of its ABSplus backup system a new software application to restore their backup capabilities, if they’re using Mac OS X v10.3 “Panther.”
CMS’ BounceBack Professional replaces the ABSplus Backup v4.2 software, according to the company. It can be used with either the portable ABSplus or the ABSplus for desktops, and is available as a free download from CMS’s Support page.
ABSplus is a self-contained backup solution that uses a hard disk drive. Available in both FireWire and USB 2.0 versions, the ABSplus connects to the Mac and then automatically backs up the Mac’s hard drive contents. Users can schedule backups or just hook up the ABSplus again to invoke an incremental backup. What’s more, the ABSplus is bootable, in the event of a catastrophic internal hard drive failure.
CMS sells the ABSplus system in a variety of storage capacities. Visit the Web site for more general information or to download the new BounceBack Professional software.s
