Peripheral and accessory maker XtremeMac has announced its Xtremity iPod Accessory System. Aimed at third-generation iPods that sport dock connectors, the Xtremity iPod Accessory System combines an iPod case with other accessories.
The new Xtremity case matches the white exterior of the iPod and works in conjunction with add-on accessories including battery packs, FM transmitters, Bluetooth wireless transmitters, belt clips, dash mounts and more — some of the devices, such as the Bluetooth wireless transmitter — are just being announced today, and XtremeMac has only offered cursory information on the Web site. The add-ons slide into place on the back of the Xtremity case. Features of the case include a removable clear cover that protects the front of the iPod, gray rubber accent strips and a design made of Lexan.
The Xtremity system includes the iPod case, “ClearShield” cover, dash mount, swivel belt clip, dust plug for the dock connector, and an adhesive adjustment pad, for US$29.95. XtremeMac said that the system will be available in Apple Stores, through the online Apple Store, and also through XtremeMac’s own Web site in time for the holidays.
