Aspyr Media Inc. has sent word that four new titles for the Macintosh have gone “Gold Master,” and are now in duplication. The games include Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy, Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield, Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness and Wakeboarding Unleashed featuring Shaun Murray.
Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy is the sequel to last year’s Jedi Outcast, taking Jedi trainees to study under the auspice of Master Luke Skywalker. Players create their own character and can even build their own lightsaber as visit venues and characters they’ll recognize from the legendary movie series. Jedi Academy is Aspyr’s first in-house conversion, performed by Brad Oliver. The company said Jedi Academy will start shipping around Dec. 19.
Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six 3: Raven Shield is the followup to last year’s popular Ghost Recon. It’s a team-based tactical strategy action game in which you lead an elite team of counterterrorist commandos on a series of covert missions. This game was brought to the Macintosh with the development efforts of i5works, an independent developer that has worked with Aspyr on previous releases including Ghost Recon, X2: Wolverines Revenge and SimCity 4. Aspyr said the game will be released around Dec. 17.
The Mac conversion of Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Angel of Darkness is done at last, and set to ship on Dec. 20, according to Aspyr. This latest installment of the enormously popular third-person action game series takes adventuress Lara Croft to new exotic locations as she endeavors to clear her name from false murder chargers and recover the Obscura Paintings, a series of mystical artwork that the evil Alchemist wants to lay his hands on at any cost. The Angel of Darkness’ conversion was handled by Beenox, a frequent Aspyr collaborator that has worked on recent Tony Hawk games and Kelly Slater Pro Surfer. The Angel of Darkness gets out the door on Dec. 20.
Finally, Wakeboarding Unleashed Featuring Shaun Murray ships — not only for the Mac but for Windows too, both from Aspyr. Another Beenox conversion, this is the latest Activision-licensed extreme sports game to emerge from Aspyr Media. This one puts you in the role of pro wakeboarder Shaun Murray and his peers as you’re pulled at high velocity behind a screaming speedboat. Hit the wake and waves for tricks and amass points. This game hits the streets around Dec. 22.
