In recent days Mac users have become concerned about their inability to contact Formac Electronic Inc., the manufacturer of monitors, optical storage and video import/export peripherals. The company told MacCentral today that this was the result of a recent restructuring, but that normal operations will soon resume.
Formac Electronic Inc. has, up until now, operated as the U.S. branch of a multinational company with headquarters in Berlin, Germany — Formac GmbH. Formac Electronic Inc. CEO Oliver Bergmann explained to MacCentral that thanks to a management buyout, Formac Electronic Inc. is now independent from that company.
“The same management team that successfully established Formac Inc. and achieved its outstanding growth during the last four years will now specifically focus on developing and implementing new concepts to provide excellent service to all our customers,” he said.
Calls and e-mails sent to Formac’s Berkeley, Calif. offices have gone unanswered. Bergmann explained that this was the result of the restructuring, which caused Formac’s operations to run “on a minimum level which made it impossible” for the company to keep customers in the loop.
Bergmann said that Formac Electronic Inc.’s operations are “starting to resume to a normal level” this week. More details are expected to be forthcoming.
