Toronto, Canada-based iSkin Inc. has announced new ProTouch PB keyboard protectors. The new protectors have been updated to fit Apple’s latest iBook and PowerBook models.
Made of silicone, the ProTouch PB lies over the laptop’s keyboard to serve as a barrier between the keyboard and things that might damage it — spills, crumbs, and so on. It’s molded to fit the keyboard and rests on top of the keys, and doesn’t restrict typing.
This version of the ProTouch PB fits older Apple Portables including PowerBook G3s, “clam-shell” iBooks and titanium-clad PowerBook G4s. It fits ANSI and ISO keyboard layouts, unlike its predecessor.
The ProTouch PB costs US$19.99 and is available initially in “Arctic,” a frosted transparent skintone. “Sonic” (transparent electric blue) is coming soon.
In related news, the company announced the iSkin Tattoo Service, which enables companies to order iSkin prototypes emblazoned with their logos, Web site address or company message. The service is available for both the redesigned ProTouch PB and iSkin eXo2 iPod protectors.
