Prolific utility developers If Then Software released their latest creation, DeepSix, on Monday. This simple utility addresses an issue that causes some design applications, specifically Macromedia’s Flash and many Adobe programs, to unexpectedly quit in Mac OS X version 10.2 or 10.3.
The problem lies in the AdobeFnt and font cache files found across users’ systems. DeepSix deletes all of those files, which are automatically recreated when they’re needed next time. If Then Software notes that this is a fix that even Adobe has suggested in their support forums.
Like If Then’s other applications, DeepSix is donationware.
