Apple on Thursday released an updated version of Xcode, its new integrated development environment (IDE) for Mac OS X. The new version of Xcode is available for download for developers who have already installed the older version, and can be had through Software Update System Preferences pane. Apple recommends that all Xcode users download and install this update.
Xcode provides developers with project editing capabilities, search and navigation functions, file editing, project building and more. It works with all kinds of Mac OS X-based software products like applications, tools, frameworks, libraries and others.
Apple noted that Xcode’s v1.1 release provides overall stability and performance enhancements to the Xcode IDE. Also added are improvements to debugging, workflow, the Xcode build system and CodeSense, which helps developers maintain up-to-date source code indexing and code completion.
