posted details about its forthcoming participation in the games area at Macworld Conference & Expo in San Francisco.
The Mac Games Arcade appears at booth location 4434 in the Moscone Center’s North Hall, where Apple will have set up new iMac systems and Power Mac G5s — 42 of them, all told — equipped with Logitech 500MX optical mice, JBL Creature and Invader speakers, and Belkin Nostromo SpeedPad n52 game controllers. The Power Mac G5s will also feature ATI Radeon 9800 graphics cards.
Apple said that Aspyr Media, Feral Interactive, Freeverse, MacPlay and MacSoft will be on hand to show off their latest games to attendees, along with works from GameHouse Inc, Linden Lab, Pangea Software, PopCap, THQ, UbiSoft and others.
Apple also suggested that MacSoft will be showing off Unreal Tournament 2004. Aspyr Media is scheduled to present its forthcoming Mac conversion of Command & Conquer: Generals, too.
A list of games to be shown off at the Mac Games Arcade include forthcoming releases like the Torque Game Engine-based mecha action game Dark Horizons: Lore and GravRally, a new racing game. Feral’s Rayman 3 will be onhand, as well Second Life, the massively multiplayer virtual life game, along with Freeverse’s iSight-based game ToySight and many more. Some titles especially for kids will be on hand, too, like Finding Nemo, Hamtaro, Rescue Heroes and more.
