Heading to Macworld Expo San Francisco for the first time next month? Then you may want to bookmark the International QuickTime VR Association’s (IQTVRA) virtual tour of the area around Moscone Center in downtown San Francisco. It’s presented in conjunction with Macworld Expo and it was designed by Patrick Cheatham of the CheathamLane design firm.
“We wanted to help Macworld attendees who might get lost in downtown San Francisco due to jet lag, too much partying, and the continual change in cityscape due to new construction,” said Cheatham.
The web page includes a map with 19 points of interest — including SF MOMA, the fountain by Yerba Buena Gardens, and more — marked by red dots. Click one and a panoramic QuickTime VR will load. Click and hold inside the QuickTime VR image and you can pan around the scene and get a sense of the surroundings.
IQTVRA is dedicated to promoting the use of interactive imaging. Macworld Expo will be held January 5-9, 2004 at Moscone Center in San Francisco.
