Ranchero Software has released a new version of its RSS Web newsreader for Mac OS X, NetNewsWire and its freeware counterpart, NetNewsWire Lite. The new versions, v1.0.7, are ready for download from the Web site.
Using NetNewsWire, you can stay abreast of what’s happening at hundreds of Web news sites and Weblogs that publish content using the Rich Site Summary (RSS) format. The full version of NetNewsWire also offers bloggers a way of posting content.
The new release of NetNewsWire adds support for favicons and feed URLs. Performance has been improved and several bugs have been fixed as well, according to the developers. The full version has a widescreen view suited for laptops, and the Sites Drawer has been updated as well. More details have been posted online.
NetNewsWire costs US$39.95 for a single-user license. It’s a free update for registered users.
