New Mexico Software, which develops enterprise-level digital management software, announced on Tuesday that February 16, 2004 will see the release of its first retail product, TAOS Image Finder.
Available in basic and professional versions, TAOS provides a search engine that allows you to look for images by name, color criteria, similarity to another graphic in the database, or similarity to an image supplied by a digital camera or scanner (in the professional edition only). You can also view images inside the TAOS database and zoom in and out on them, group them however you wish, and view their color distributions.
In addition, TAOS supports the most popular image formats, including JPEG, GIF, TIF, and Photoshop PSD.
The basic and professional versions will retail for $99.95 and $149.95, respectively. System requirements call for Mac OS X (any version), a G4 or G5 processor running at 1GHz or faster, 256 or 512MB of RAM for the basic or professional versions, 100MB of hard drive space, and an OpenGL-supported video card.
