Babel Company has released Impression 2.0, a new version of their backup utility for Mac OS X.
Impression allows you to back up and restore file directories by using optical disks or disk images. It features incremental and differential backup capabilities and much more. It was created using Mac OS X’s Cocoa application framework.
The new version of Impression features a redesigned user interface. What’s more, you can select scratch space for disks other than your startup disk. Individual files can be added to the backup list, Unicode file name parsing has been improved, and bugs have been fixed. Impression 2.0 also features full compatibility with Mac OS X v10.3 “Panther’s” FileVault file encryption technology, and offers new bookmark-based management.
Impression 2.0 requires Mac OS X v10.2.x or higher. It costs US$25 to register, and a trial version is available for download.
